Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

Make a Gift to DEI Initiatives

Nurses are on the front lines of how patients interact with the healthcare system. Nurses play a primary role in determining the quality of patients’ experiences. Nurses lead in breaking down societal and organizational barriers to achieving health equity by understanding disparities in health status, analyzing data to improve care, and advocating for just allocation of resources.

Our mission is to advance nursing science and practice through generating knowledge and educating future leaders to address health for all, especially in meeting the needs of an ever more diverse, multicultural population. The UW School of Nursing is committed to attracting, admitting, hiring, and supporting diverse and racially representative students, faculty, and staff.

We invite you to make a gift to advance key diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) priorities within the UW School of Nursing. Ways to do so include:

  • Click here to make a gift to the Center for Antiracism in Nursing Excellence Fund
  • Contact our advancement team to learn how you can support other DEI priorities, including but not limited to:
    • Student scholarships
    • Research funding focused on health equity and health disparities
    • Faculty and staff professional development to improve the experience of students from underrepresented and historically excluded backgrounds (such as training in teaching best practices, integrating diversity-related curricular content, and program supports to enhance retention and student success)

Information about other ways to give, including via check, securities, and planned gifts, is available here. If you would like to speak to someone about making a gift, please contact Jenny Vincent, Interim Assistant Dean for Advancement, at 206.616.2464 or jennywh@uw.edu. Together we can support nurses leading efforts to create more equitable healthcare for all.

Thank you!
